After an incredible journey operating under the respected Phady’s Muay Thai name for two years, Coach Christian, a proud Guelphite, has taken the next step and launched his own brand — created for the people of Guelph and surroundings, by someone who calls it home. This is not the result of a split, with the Phady's Family but a natural progression in his growth as a coach, leader, and builder of community.
He named the gym Royal City Muay Thai, a name that reflects both his roots and his mission. Guelph is affectionately known as the Royal City — a title dating back to its founding in 1827 by Scottish novelist John Galt. The name “Guelph” itself honors the House of Guelph (or "Welf"), a German royal family connected to Britain’s reigning monarchs at the time. The city’s royal namesake is a symbol of tradition, pride, and enduring community — values that align perfectly with the spirit of Muay Thai.
The Phady’s name was not bought — it was earned and given, a reflection of the trust, mentorship, and support that was extended from day one and continues to this day. That foundation allowed Coach Christian to build a thriving Muay Thai community in Guelph rooted in discipline, respect, and heart.
Now, with deep gratitude, he continues to serve Guelph and the surrounding area with the same passion and dedication — focused on creating a lasting legacy for his family, his students, and the city that raised him. The bond with Phady’s remains strong. The mission continues. The vision grows.
